Thrown work

This work is inspired by the rise and fall of the tide. Dry glaze with a high clay content emulates low tide, hand inscribed surfaces represent the reeds and margins of the creek. Soft grey and turquoise glazes have been developed to reflect other tide and weather conditions.

Jacqueline is constantly experimenting with new glazes made in the studio.

Sculptural work

The creekside at Devoran and Penpol boatyard are her main sources of inspiration. The way the boats sit on the water and on the mud at low tide. The hulks that slowly deteriorate, awaiting renovation.

These sculptural pieces made from coloured stoneware clays reference boats but are not intended as complete representations. Some suggest movement, some static. Grouped or single.
